Participating in sport has many physical and emotional benefits for children and adults alike and is something we’ve written quite extensively about; providing a source of meaningful and enjoyable exercise, encouraging participants to develop collaborative, team building and communication skills, and social skills.

For women and girls in particular, participating in sports such as football can have a significant, positive impact on self esteem, confidence and body image.

What’s more, professional sportswomen such as those playing in the upcoming Women’s World Cup, stand as positive role models for today’s children and young adults – demonstrating the incredible strength and capability of women, and showing that, with hard work and determination, you can achieve anything you set your mind to!
