A guide to school dance studio hire

One of the many benefits of hiring out a school for your next group meeting, club activities or event, as opposed to alternative venues, is the extensive range of facilities available to you as an external hirer; ranging from main, sports and resource halls to individual classrooms, football pitches and dance & drama studios.

What’s more, schools offering their facilities for hire also encourage long term or ongoing lettings as well as fostering positive working relationships with those individuals & organisations choosing to hire from them.

So, with this in mind, when it comes to school dance studio hire; how far in advance can I book?

School dance studio hire: how far in advance can I book?

Particularly if you run an ongoing, long term dance class or variety of dance classes via a dance school, you’ll inevitably need a long term let with a well-equipped dance studio; a place you can comfortably and confidently teach from for a number of weeks or months, without fear of losing the booking or having to find an alternative venue at short notice.

No, what you really need is the security of knowing the dance studio you hire is booked in your name, for the time & dates you require it, for as long as – or close to! – you need it.

But, how far in advance can you book a school dance studio for hire?

There’s no one answer for this question as, really, it depends on several factors:

  • How the school(s) in question lets their facilities and the terms they work from
  • The times & days of the week you require the dance studio(s)
  • The current availability of the dance studio(s) in question on the days & times it is required

Oftentimes, schools work to their own, independent terms or the terms of the trust they are a part of; this includes the days & times of the week they make their facilities available for hire.

Therefore, when making your enquiries, it’s a good idea to speak directly to the school in question or the organisation responsible for listing the school and its facilities for hire to understand how far in advance you can book the space you’re interested in.

What’s more, if you’re only just embarking on your dance school journey or moving venues and currently looking for a new dance studio to teach from, it could be worth booking the dance studio in question for a finite period of time – such as a summer or an agreed number of terms – in order to get a good idea of whether the space will work for you and your class/school on a longer term basis.
