Renting a facility: how much does it cost?

If you’re actively searching for an affordable facility for hire for your next event, club, activity or meeting, you’re probably wondering: how much does it cost to rent a facility?

How much does it cost to rent a facility?

With so many facilities and venues for hire, it can be difficult to find an average hire price, leaving you wondering what your overall budget should be. So, when understanding how much it costs to rent a facility, the following should be taken into consideration:

Facility type: the type of facility you require will affect the overall hire price – a large sports hall, for example, may cost more to hire than a small hall or studio space as a sports hall will have a much larger overall capacity, access to specialist equipment and a variety of specialist uses.

Location: the location of a venue or facility will pay a huge part in determining the overall cost of renting a facility; a facility based in a large city such as London, for instance, will cost more than a facility based in a small town or village. This is often due to factors such as transport links, demand, general upkeep of the venue, and other external factors.

Facility size/capacity: with this, the overall size and capacity of a facility will play a contributing factor in the hire price, not only because a larger facility such as a conference hall or sports hall can fit a lot more people comfortably in the space, but also because larger spaces require more maintenance and general care, and will often offer a wider variety of basic facilities and amenities such as toilets or tea & coffee making facilities.

Length of hire: the length of time you require your booking will also affect the hire price as hiring a hall or classroom for just one hour will cost less than hiring the same hall for classroom for 4 or 4 hours at a time. Within this, a regular weekly or monthly booking for an extended period of time could also affect the price as venues may favour and therefore apply a small discount to any long term booking.

This will help you gain a better understanding of how much facilities cost to rent – especially in your area and within your specifications/requirements.

For us here at Schoolhire Solutions Ltd., where many of the school facilities we hire out are based in Sutton, Cheam, Wallington and Surrey, Greater London and – to give you an idea of cost to rent – sports hall hire starts at around £50 per hour.
