Dance studio hire: how much does it cost?

A New Year brings with it new & exciting opportunities to grow, develop or try something new and, if you run a dance school, you may be viewing the New Year as an opportunity make positive changes to your business; find a larger dance studio for hire and take on more pupils or start another class in an alternative location or you could be making a career change and moving into the world of dance education. Whatever your reasons, you’ve found this blog because you’re likely wondering: how much is it to rent a dance studio?

Dance studio hire: how much does it cost?

Dance studio hire cost really depends on a number of varying factors, such as:

Studio size: the physical size of a dance studio can alter the cost to the hirer to hire the studio – with larger studios naturally costing more than smaller dance studios.

Flooring: although it may sound obscure, the type of flooring used in a dance studio could raise or lower the hiring price; a wooden sprung floor, for example, is likely to cost more than a vinyl floor.

Location: the subject of location is something that comes up a lot in our blogs as it’s extremely influential to a lot of other factors, such as the price of hiring a facility. For example, hiring a dance studio in or near the centre of London will cost much more than hiring a dance studio in Surrey!

Length of hire: hiring for just one rehearsal session? A whole week? Or an entire term? The length of your hire will affect the cost of the dance studio in question; not only in terms of the overall cost of the studio – a long term hirer costing more than a single session or short term hire – but the longer your hiring terms, the more likely you are (but not certain, of course!) to be offered a lower hourly/daily fee or discretionary discount.

NB: also to note is the fact that different studios will offer different payment terms and charges – for example, some may choose to charge by the hour where others choose to charge per day.

With this in mind, dance studio hire can cost anywhere from £20 per hour, depending on what you need, how long for and where!

The best way to get an idea of price for dance studio hire is to identify the studio you’re interested in (either using a directory or contacting the venue directly) and make an enquiry, providing details of what you need and asking for the cost of hiring the venue with your requirements.

This will provide you with an individual and specific quote you can use to help you decide.
